What are discount rewards?
Discount rewards let you give customers vouchers they can redeem against any item in your store. LoyaltyLion offers flat and percentage discount rewards. You can set a minimum spend when you create one, and change that minimum spend later if you need to.
We do not allow a collection restriction on regular discount rewards. To restrict a discount to one collection, use a collection discount voucher instead.

Types of discount rewards
Flat discount
This reward gives customers a set amount of money off their orders. Setting up several flat discount rewards is a good way to improve customer engagement.
Flat discount rewards are our most popular reward. Research states 71% of consumers decide to join a loyalty program because of flat discounts on every purchase.
Percentage discount
This reward gives your customer a percentage off their basket total. A percentage discount is a good way to improve engagement and increase your average order value.
How to set up a discount reward
In LoyaltyLion, go to Program, then Rewards
Click Create reward
Select the Discount reward
Select the type of discount you want: fixed amount or percentage
Fill in the details, including reward name, purchase type, and minimum purchase requirements
Click Create reward
Editing the reward title
You can change the title customers see on your loyalty page after the reward has been created. Click the reward in your rewards list, scroll to the Display - Title field, then click Update reward to save.
Reward expiration
We recommend adding a 6 month expiration to your rewards. An expiration date:
encourages customers to use their rewards, and creates urgency as the deadline approaches
increases your communication with customers, if you have events enabled for your email or SMS integrations
helps you manage your outstanding rewards liability

Minimum spends
A minimum spend sets the order total a customer needs to reach before they can use their discount. You can add one when you create the reward, and change it at any time after that.
To update it, click the reward in your rewards list, change the Minimum purchase requirements field, then click Update reward to save.
We generally suggest setting flat discount rewards without a minimum spend, so your customers are encouraged to come back and make a second purchase. If you do set a minimum spend on a percentage discount, setting it higher than your current average order value is a good way to increase that average.
Claiming the reward
The customer goes to your loyalty page and finds the discount reward in the Rewards section. This is what it looks like from a customer's perspective:
FAQ
Can I adjust the settings for my discount reward?
Some of them. You can update the reward's title and its minimum spend at any time. You cannot change the points needed, the discount amount, or the collection once the reward is live.
To offer a reward with different details, look up the existing rewards on the Manage codes tab and refund the existing reward for each customer. Then delete the reward and create a new one.
