Overview
Reward your customers with points for their verified reviews by integrating Loox with LoyaltyLion. With this integration, you can offer points based on customers’ reviews to encourage honest and helpful reviews.
Why integrate LoyaltyLion with Loox?
Loox is a photo reviews app for Shopify merchants that makes it easy to collect visual reviews from customers and build a credible, trustworthy storefront.
The LoyaltyLion and Loox integration lets you reward customers for leaving high-quality verified reviews. Using bonuses and requirements, you can incentivize the kind of user-generated content (UGC) that drives conversions, such as detailed write-ups, photos, and videos, rather than rewarding all reviews equally.
Most loyalty programs offer a flat reward for any review submission, regardless of quality. This results in low-effort reviews being over-rewarded, high-quality reviews being under-rewarded, and points budgets being spent inefficiently.

Installing the integration
The Loox integration is primarily connected through Loox. In LoyaltyLion, if you go to Integrations > Loox, this will bring you to the Loox Integration Portal.
From there, you can go to the Integrations tab in your Loox portal and click Activate Integration to connect Loox and LoyaltyLion.
How it works
In LoyaltyLion, once Loox has been integrated, you can create the Leave a review via Loox rule. Go to Program, then Rules, click Create rule, and select Leave a review via Loox. You can have 1 Loox review rule, and every option below is set inside it.
What Loox sends us
Loox tells us when a customer does any of the following with a verified review, and the Leave a review via Loox rule decides what each one earns:
New photo review submitted
New video review submitted
New text review submitted
Review published or unpublished
Review deleted by customer
Review updated by customer (including media additions)
We use what Loox sends about the review, such as how many photos and videos it has and how long the text is, to work out the points.
Note:
Publish and unpublish status is only reported for individual review changes.
If reviews are published or unpublished in bulk from the Loox Manage Reviews page, Loox doesn't send us those status changes.
Reward calculation
When a customer submits a verified review via Loox:
Loox sends us the review.
Your Leave a review via Loox rule checks it.
We add up the base points and any bonuses the review qualifies for. If the review misses a requirement, it earns nothing.
Example configuration:
Base reward: 50 points
+25 points per photo, up to a maximum of 100 bonus points (3 photos = +75 points)
+100 points for reviews of specific products
Requirement: the review must include at least 1 photo
We work out the total automatically from the review. A Loox review carries one type of media, photos or a video, not both.
Bonuses and requirements
In the Leave a review via Loox rule, you set base points for a verified review, then add Modifiers for bonus points and Requirements a review has to meet before it earns anything. This table shows each option:

You can set bonuses per tier, to give your VIP customers more for a great review. Requirements apply to every customer.
If you set the rule to give a reward instead of points, bonuses don't apply.

The Loox integration works by awarding points to customers who leave a verified review through the Loox Review Request email.
Note: Reviews submitted through the "Write a Review" button or a direct review link aren't verified, so Loox doesn't send them to us and we don't award points for them.
FAQs
Why didn't my customer get points for their review?
Only verified reviews trigger points in LoyaltyLion. A verified review is one submitted by a customer via a Loox Review Request email, connected to a verified order. Reviews submitted through the "Write a Review" button, a direct review link, or imported from other sources aren't sent to us by Loox, so we don't award points for them.
Can I give different points for photo, video and text reviews?
Yes, within the one Leave a review via Loox rule. Set base points for every verified review, then add a photo bonus and a video bonus on top.
Will a customer earn more points if they add a photo or video later?
Yes. When a customer updates a review, we work out its points again. If they add photos, the photo bonus is added. If the updated review no longer meets a requirement, its points are removed.
Do reviews left before I created the rule earn points?
No. We only award points for reviews written after you create the rule.
Can I reward customers for adding several photos to one review?
Yes. Add a photo bonus and choose Per photo. Use Max points to cap the bonus. Loox allows up to 5 photos per review.
What happens to points if a review is deleted or rejected?
If a review is deleted or rejected, we remove the points it earned. If its points were still pending, we decline them instead.
