Activity: Visit online shop

Give your customers points for coming back to your store

Overview

The Visit online shop rule gives your customers points simply for coming back to your store. It is the cheapest way to give a lapsed customer a reason to return, and it rewards the habit of visiting rather than any particular purchase.

It's recommended to keep this rule priced low, such as 25 points once per week. It would take 20 weeks for a customer to reach a 500 point reward, so it's not easy to get, but builds a habit with your customers.

Setting up the rule

  1. Go to Program, then Rules, then Create rule.

  2. Choose Visit online shop.

  3. Under Customer gets, set the number of Points.

  4. Set the Customer limit. This rule always has one, so decide how many times per day, week, month, year or lifetime a customer can earn from visiting.

  5. Fill in the Display section: the Title shown on your loyalty page, and the Notification a customer sees when they earn the points.

  6. Click Create in the top right.

FAQ

When does the rule limit reset?

A rule limit runs on the calendar interval, not on a rolling clock from the last completion. If the limit is once per month and a customer completes the rule on June 30th, they can complete it again on July 1st. They earn the points both times, then wait until August 1st for the next one.

A visit date in LoyaltyLion does not match when I think the customer visited. Why?

Times in LoyaltyLion are shown in your store's time zone, which you set in your program settings. A customer in a different time zone can therefore see an activity fall on what looks to them like the day before or after.
