Enhanced Notifications

Earn Points

The earn points notification lets your signed-in customers know that they've earned points every time they complete an activity rule. It will let customers know which rule they completed, and how many points they got for completing the action.

Welcome New Visitors

Welcome new visitors lets customers who are not members of the Loyalty program know that the program is available and tells them they could earn points.

Simply toggle on the notification and hit save to make this active.

Enhanced Notifications below are available for Plus plan merchants on Shopify only. Contact support@loyaltylion.com if you are interested in upgrading your account.

Post-Purchase: Guest Sign Up

Encourages non-member shoppers to create an account after they’ve made a purchase so they can save their points.

This will only show if the customer checks out as a guest and you have at least a one hour 'rewards historic purchases' in the 'make a purchase rule' are of your program.

This requires you to have LoyaltyLion included on your order summary page. You can find those steps here.

Post-Purchase: Refer a Friend

This message appears on the order summary page and shows members their referral link.

The amount of points dictated in this is set via what you have set up in your refer-a-friend rule.

This requires you to have LoyaltyLion included on your order summary page. You can find those steps here.

Redeem Rewards

This notification shows on the product page and is designed to show when a logged-in customer has enough points to redeem for a reward.

You can choose to select either one or three rewards to be displayed.

Customizing Notifications

Earn Points

You should be able to edit the notification text from the activity rule page in the admin. For example, if you wanted to change the text for the "Create an account" notification:

  1. Log in to Loyalty Lion

  2. Go to "Manage" tab

  3. Go to "Activity rules" and "View rules"

  4. Go to Activity you wish to Edit and "Edit"

  5. Scroll down to notification text and make the adjustments there

  6. Save the changes by hitting "Update rule"

Welcome New Visitors

This wording can be updated in the Languages section of your platform.

Post-Purchase Guest Sign Up, Refer a Friend and Redeem Rewards

In each enhanced notification there is a 'Message' box where you can update the wording used in the notification.

After updating your wording be sure to hit the 'Save' button in the upper right-hand corner to update your wording.

Custom CSS

Notifications can also be updated using CSS. If you wish to update the CSS of the notifications you can refer to our developer documentation here.

Delayed Sending

For Welcome new visitors and Redeem rewards notifications, rather than sending these notifications as soon as the visitor lands on your store, you can delay the sending by 5 seconds.

FAQ

Q. Why aren't my rewards notifications showing?

Due to technical limitations, the rewards notifications do not work with seamless rewards yet. As you have 0 eligible rewards, the notification is hidden otherwise it would be empty; if they were to set up another kind of reward the notification would show.
