This is a Shopify and Advanced+ plan feature.

Points multipliers are one of the most reliable levers for driving repeat purchases. When timed correctly, they increase order volume, reactivation, and future redemption activity.

How

AI suggestion

The AI analyses historical order performance, industry data, peak periods, and upcoming quiet periods to recommend when running a multiplier event will drive the most incremental orders, customers, and revenue.

The AI will also make natural campaign duration suggestions, e.g., preferring weekends over weekdays or scheduling all within the same week.

Incentive & Audience

Apply multipliers to your base rate or across your tiers.

Scheduling

You can also set start and end dates and times for each point multiplier event.

Shopper

Members who complete purchases during the scheduled campaign window will receive their points multiplier, and this will be reflected in their customer activities.

Reporting & exports

Each campaign includes a summary that shows its recall impact. Four core metrics are provided:

  • Customers: Number of customers who completed the campaign journey

  • Orders: Number of orders placed by customers included in the campaign

  • Average order value: Total campaign sales divided by total campaign orders

  • Attributed sales: Total order revenue, net of refunds and discounts, generated by customers in the campaign

You can export the expected participating customers at launch to notify them about the campaign. During and after the campaign, you can see exactly which customers engaged and which did not.

Journey Status definitions:

  • Assigned: customer has visited the storefront, but not ordered anything

  • Completed: customer has placed an order

FAQ

How does the multiplier work against my existing Make a Purchase rule base rate?
The multiplier is applied to your existing Make a Purchase base rate that is active at the time the campaign starts. For example, if your base rate is 10 points per $1 and you run a 1.5x multiplier, customers earn 15 points per $1 during the campaign window.

What happens if I change my base value during a campaign window?
Nothing. The campaign uses a snapshot of the base rate taken at the start of the campaign. Any changes made to the Make a Purchase base rate during the campaign do not affect the multiplier calculation.

What happens to my existing product and collection modifiers?
They are respected. Campaign multipliers are applied on top of existing multipliers. For example, a 2x campaign applied to a 0x modifier remains 0x, and a 2x campaign applied to a 0.5x modifier results in a 1x multiplier.

Fixed-rate modifiers, such as earning 100 points, are not affected by campaign multipliers.

Can I edit a points multiplier campaign once it is live?
No. Live campaigns cannot be edited. You can cancel the campaign, which immediately stops the multiplier from applying to future purchases.

Why can't I create a campaign with draft tiers?

Campaign configurations rely heavily on tier settings, and publishing tiers or a campaign at the same time may have undesirable consequences.

What happens to refunded orders and points earned?

Partial and full refunds are handled exactly the same way and will be proportionate to the value refunded and points earned for the order at the time the order was placed.

What happens with rewarding historic purchases?

Points are earned for historic purchases at the time of account creation. So if a campaign is active, the customer will earn points for the historical order based on that campaign's earning rate.

Do Points Multiplier Events work with headless programs?

Yes! It will work in the same way as your purchase rule across all channels: web, app and POS.
