Customer account blocks work with Shopify New Customer Accounts only, and aren't available on the Shopify Starter plan.
In this article:
Overview
Customer account blocks put your loyalty program inside your Shopify customer accounts, where your customers already go to check their orders. There are 3 blocks: a full Loyalty page, a Loyalty status block for the orders list, and a Points for order block for each order.
This article covers what each block shows and how to add them. To find out how New Customer Accounts change the way customers join and earn, see how New Customer Accounts affect your loyalty program.
The customer account blocks
Loyalty page
The Loyalty page is a full page in your customer accounts, which your customers open from the top navigation.
Depending on how you've set up your program, the Loyalty page shows the following sections:
Welcome message, points balance and activity
Tier status and progress
Reward progress and claimed rewards
Rules and their status
Refer-a-friend link
Rewards and the points needed
Product rewards
The Loyalty page also shows your Challenges and your Loyalty pass, if you use them. Customers who haven't joined your program see an invitation to join instead of the page.
Loyalty status
The Loyalty status block sits on the orders page of your customer accounts. It gives your customers a snapshot of their program: their points, their tier and progress toward the next one if you use tiers, and a link to their rewards.
The block changes for customers who have just joined, who haven't joined yet, or when a campaign is running.
Points for order
The Points for order block sits on each order's page and tells your customers exactly how many points they earned on that purchase.
How to add the blocks
Before you start, enable LoyaltyLion via Shopify App Embeds.
In LoyaltyLion, go to Display, then Store components.
Find the Loyalty page, Loyalty status and Points for order cards, and click Set up on the first one. This opens the customer accounts editor in your Shopify admin.
Add the block and click Save.
Repeat for the other 2 blocks. Your customers see each block in their customer accounts as soon as you save it.
Shopify sometimes shows an error message when you save. Refresh the page and you'll see the block has saved.
Add all 3 blocks for the best experience. Your customers then see their loyalty details wherever they are in their account.
FAQ
Do customer account blocks help customers join my program?
Yes, if your program uses automatic enrollment. When a signed-in customer opens a page with one of the blocks, we enroll them. If your program uses manual opt-in, the blocks show a Join button instead. Find out more about how customers join with New Customer Accounts.
How do the blocks work with the rest of my loyalty program?
The blocks show the same rules, rewards and tiers as your loyalty page. Any change you make to your program appears everywhere at once.
Can I change how the blocks look or what they say?
Shopify controls the styling inside customer accounts, so you can't change how the blocks look. You can change the text in Display, then Languages & text, in the same way as the rest of your program's text.
How do I get the most out of the blocks?
Use them alongside your loyalty page and our checkout extensions (Redeem at checkout, Refer a friend and Points earned), so your customers can see and use their points at every step.
Why are some rewards missing from the Loyalty page?
Seamless Free Product (SFP) rewards aren't available in customer accounts, because Shopify doesn't let apps change a customer's cart from there. Your customers can still claim SFP rewards on your store as usual.
Why aren't the blocks showing?
Check that your store uses New Customer Accounts and that you've saved each block in Shopify. If they still don't show, contact support@loyaltylion.com.
