Pre-translated languages

During the setup process of your loyalty program, you can select one of our 7 languages for your loyalty program. We currently provide official LoyaltyLion translations for the following languages:

Dutch
English
French
German
Italian
Spanish
Swedish

We also support adding and translating up to 138 languages with our Multi-language feature. (Advanced and Plus plans only)

How to change the on-site text

Do you want to change "points" to "coins" or "bucks"? Or maybe you want to translate your program to a completely new language?

Your loyalty program is fully customizable. You can translate the text to your chosen language or amend only certain parts of it on the Languages page.

IMPORTANT:

Changing the language is an advanced feature, so be sure to read the instructions below carefully before you change any translations.

From time to time we will add additional translations for new features. When we do this, we'll send you an email to let you know so you can come back here and customize them if you need to. By default, new translations will show up on your store in your current language.

Instructions

Variables

Some translations contain variables, like %{smart_count}. These will be replaced, usually with a number, when the translation is used. DO NOT TRANSLATE the variable, it needs to be left in English.

E.g. %{smart_count} points will become 10 points

Plurals

Some translations are plurals and contain four pipes: ||||. This is used to provide multiple translations for different pluralizations. The first translation (before the pipes) will be used when the number is 0 or 1, and the second will be used in all other cases.

HTML

Some translations contain some basic HTML, which must be left intact or it may break the display of your loyalty components. If you are not comfortable editing HTML, we recommend you skip these translations.

Finding the right text to translate

Within the Languages page, there are different categories of available text. This is defined by who will see the text, and what feature it is connected to.

Each sub-category will expand to show the text within that feature:

Updating text

The new table view makes it easy to see the reference, original text, and new text. The columns are as follows, left to right:

Location reference. This is a light description of what element the text is for in the LoyaltyLion UI
Original text: Shown in your default language
Target language text: In the picture below, we're customizing text for the English language, and can change what should appear to the customer.
Status: If you haven't customized the string yet, it will show with a NEW badge.

You can also use the search function to find specific wording, such as if you wanted the change the use of the word 'points', you could search for all text containing the word 'points':
