Overview
On a custom store, LoyaltyLion does not create discount codes in your store for you. Instead you keep a pool of codes that already exist there, and we hand one to each customer who claims the reward.
There are two ways to fill that pool: have LoyaltyLion generate a batch of codes for you to add to your store, or import codes you have already made yourself.
Both start in the same place. Go to Program > Rewards, open the ⋯ menu on the voucher reward, and click Add codes.
Generating codes
Use this when you do not have codes yet and want a set of unique ones to create in your store.
On the Add voucher codes page, open the Generate codes tab.
Enter how many codes you want, up to 10,000, and a prefix. The prefix defaults to LL, and an example of the resulting code is shown as you type.
Click Generate codes. The batch appears below under Generated codes, with its number, the date it was generated and how many codes it holds.
Click download next to the batch to get a text file of the codes.
Add every code in that file to your store as a discount, set to the value the reward promises.
Back in LoyaltyLion, click Activate codes on the batch.
Until you activate a batch its codes cannot be claimed, and the batch carries a warning saying so. Once the codes are live that warning and the Activate codes button go away. Delete this batch sits beside them if you generated a set by mistake.
Add the codes to your store before you activate them. Activating makes a batch claimable, and a customer handed a code that does not exist in your store cannot use it.
Importing codes you already have
If the discount codes already exist in your store, import them instead of generating new ones.
On the Add voucher codes page, open the Import codes into LoyaltyLion tab.
Paste your codes into the box, one per line. The count above it updates as you paste.
Click Import voucher codes.
Imported codes become available to customers straight away, so there is no activation step. Check them before you paste them in: a code that does not exist in your store, or that gives the wrong discount, will still be handed to a customer.
Checking your codes
Manage codes, in the same ⋯ menu, lists every code for the reward along with who claimed it, when it was used, when it expires and the order it was used on.
Filter the list by Available, Claimed, Used or Expired, or search for a particular code or order number.
