Before you uninstall
Export all the data you need before you uninstall. Exports need an active subscription, and uninstalling LoyaltyLion from your last store cancels it. If you need data after you have uninstalled, contact our Support team.
If you are closing your loyalty program, plan how to tell your customers and what to do with their points first.
Uninstalling the app
Uninstall LoyaltyLion from the Apps page in your Shopify admin, following Shopify's guide to uninstalling apps.
LoyaltyLion loads on your store through an app embed, which Shopify switches off when you uninstall. You don't need to remove any code, unless your store still has the older theme code described below.
Once LoyaltyLion is uninstalled from every store in your program, you can archive the program.
What happens to your billing
If you pay through Shopify, Shopify stops charging for LoyaltyLion when you uninstall it. When LoyaltyLion is uninstalled from every store on your subscription, we cancel the subscription too.
If you pay LoyaltyLion by card, uninstalling doesn't cancel your subscription. Contact our Support team to cancel it.
What happens to your data
You can still sign in to LoyaltyLion after you uninstall.
After you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your customers' data. We do this 14 days after Shopify's request, once LoyaltyLion is uninstalled from every store in the program. If you reinstall before then, we don't erase anything.
Removing old theme code
Stores that installed LoyaltyLion several years ago may still have a line of LoyaltyLion code in their theme. To check, and remove it if it is there:
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store, and then Themes.
Click Actions, or the three dots next to your theme, and select Edit code.
Open theme.liquid.
Find this line:

Delete the line, and click Save.
If you can't find the line, there is nothing to remove.
