LoyaltyLion supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can connect AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to your loyalty program. Once connected, you can ask questions in plain language and get answers from your live account data, without digging through reports or exports.
What you can ask
Here are a few of the questions you can ask:
"How is my loyalty program set up?"
"How many new members did I gain each month this year?"
"Which earning rule drove the most points last month?"
"What's the points balance and tier for [customer email]?"
The assistant can read your program configuration (earning rules, rewards, tiers, points expiration), your analytics (members, points, orders, revenue, rewards and customer lifetime value), your customers and orders, and the LoyaltyLion Help Center. On LoyaltyLion’s Plus plan it can also read your audit log.
Access is read-only. Assistants can view your data but can’t make changes to your program.
Who can use it
The MCP server is available on the Classic plan and above. To connect an assistant, you need the Admin role in LoyaltyLion.
How to set it up
Claude
Open the LoyaltyLion connector in Claude’s directory, click Connect, and sign in with your LoyaltyLion account. You don’t need an API key. The connector works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile, and in Claude Code.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode and add LoyaltyLion as a custom plugin, following our ChatGPT setup steps. You sign in with your LoyaltyLion account and don’t need an API key. Developer mode is available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans.
Other assistants
Other MCP-compatible assistants, such as Cursor and VS Code, connect with an API key. Create one in Settings > API keys with the read_customers and read_orders scopes, and add read_audit_log if you want the assistant to read your audit log. Your older token and secret won’t work.
Removing access
Claude and ChatGPT appear under Connected apps in Settings > API keys, where you can revoke their access. To disconnect an assistant that uses an API key, disable or delete the key.
