Audit log

The Audit log provides a complete history of changes to your loyalty program, making it easy to see what changed, when it was changed, and who made the change.

Whether you're investigating an unexpected configuration change, reviewing staff activity, or meeting internal compliance requirements, the Audit log provides a permanent record of supported actions across your LoyaltyLion account.

Accessing the Audit log

To view your Audit log:

  1. In LoyaltyLion, go to Analytics.

  2. Select Audit log.

If you're an account Owner or Admin, you'll be able to view the Audit log for your store.

LoyaltyLion admins with access to your account can also view your Audit log to help investigate support issues.


What information is recorded?

Each audit event includes details such as:

  • The date and time the action occurred

  • Who performed the action

  • The affected customer, reward, rule, or resource (where applicable)

  • What changed, including the previous and new values

  • The reason for the change (when provided)

Selecting an event opens a detailed view showing exactly what was updated.

For example, if a reward was edited, you'll see each field that changed alongside its previous and new value.


What actions are tracked?

The Audit log captures almost all actions that modify your loyalty program, including changes made by:

  • Account Owners and Admins

  • Shopify POS staff

  • LoyaltyLion support staff

Examples include:

  • Updating program settings

  • Editing rewards and rules

  • Adjusting customer points

  • Redeeming rewards

  • Changing customer birthdays

  • Completing loyalty activities

  • Other configuration and customer management actions

Customer page views

Most read-only actions aren't recorded.

The main exception is viewing a customer profile, which is logged to provide visibility into who has accessed customer information.


Shopify POS activity

Actions performed through Shopify POS are also recorded.

This includes activities such as:

  • Awarding or deducting points

  • Redeeming rewards

  • Updating customer birthdays

  • Other supported customer actions

Where available, the Audit log records the Shopify POS staff member who performed the action.


Filtering and exporting

You can quickly find specific events by using the available filters.

If you need to perform your own analysis or retain records for internal processes, you can export the Audit log at any time.


Privacy and security

The Audit log is designed to support operational auditing without exposing sensitive customer information.

  • Personally identifiable information (PII) is never included in change data.

  • If email addresses appear in changed values, they are automatically redacted.

  • The audit history is permanent and cannot be modified or deleted.


How LoyaltyLion actions appear

If an action is performed by a member of the LoyaltyLion team, the Performed by field will display LoyaltyLion.


Important notes

  • The Audit log only includes events recorded from the date the feature was released (15th July 2026). Earlier activity isn't available.

  • Edits to Loyalty Emails aren't currently tracked.

  • The Audit log focuses on actions that change data or configurations. Most view-only actions aren't recorded, except for customer profile views.
