LoyaltyLion can connect multiple Shopify stores to one loyalty program so customers share points and tier status across locations. The most common setup is one online store plus one or more Shopify POS (retail) stores.
Overview
Customers are linked by email address. They should register on each store using the same email.
One store is marked as the primary site - this will usually be your main online shop. Some program-wide features (such as emails, integrations, parts of API) default to the primary store's context.
Multisite must be enabled on your account before you can link extra stores. Contact support@loyaltylion.com to turn this on.
Types of sites in a program
Type | What is it | Earn points | Redeem rewards |
Online store (ecommerce) | Your primary Shopify store | ✅ | ✅ |
POS | A Shopify store used for in-person sales | ✅ | ✅ |
Blog/content site | A site where shoppers can earn points, but not check out | ✅ | ❌ |
What does it mean in practice
one main, online store per program
multiple POS stores linked to that program - used as POS retail locations only, where the web presence is unused or unavailable.
blog or non-commerce sites are possible but are set up with help from our team, not through the standard ‘Add a store’ button.
Shared vs per store
Shared across the whole program
points balance and loyalty history
tier status
certain rules (eg. birthday rule)
tier benefits and tier-level rule configuration
Separate for each store
activity rules and rewards
customisation
What works across stores:
shoppers can see activities from other sites in their loyalty history
your staff can find customers across linked stores at POS
admin tools show which store an activity belongs to when managing customers
points earned in any store can be spent on rewards available on any store (subject to reward configuration)
Limitations
Rewards
By default, a reward created on Store A can't be used on Site B. The recommended approach would be to display some kind of banner on Site A which links shoppers to Site B and tells them they can use their points there if they register using the same email address.
Emails
LoyaltyLion Emails are not supported. Use Klaviyo or other integrations where you need store-specific emails.
Conditional tiers
Conditional tiers are not compatible.
Customer merge
Currently not supported - LoyaltyLion's own email-based matching already handles deduplication, and a delete webhook from one store should not remove a customer who is active on other stores.
Currency and languages
By default, all stores in a program must use the same currency. Different languages per store in one program are not fully supported. Program-wide text may follow your primary store's language.
Important setup notes
Signup points
To reward points for signing up, add a signup rule on all the sites of your program. Signup points are designed to apply once per customer per program, not once per store.

FAQ's
Q: Can I link two stores with different currencies?
A: No, the sites must have the same base currency.
Q. Can I link two full online Shopify stores to one program?
The standard setup is one online store plus POS (and optionally blog) sites. Multiple full ecommerce stores in one program are not a supported configuration.
Q. Can customers redeem a reward from Store B while browsing Store A?
No - they need to redeem on the store that owns the reward. Customers use the same email to access their shared points on whichever store they visit.
Q. Should I set the birthday rule for every store?
No, birthday rules are per-site. Creating birthday rules on multiple linked sites will reward birthday points per each site the rule is set up. Enable the birthday rule on one store only to avoid this.
