🦁 Please read the below 🦁

Imported customers need to already exist on your platform before we can process the import. If not, our program will not be able to find customers and they will be inevitably skipped.

It is the merchant's responsibility to provide the import file and make any amendments to it before it can be uploaded into LoyaltyLion.

Please be informed that point imports can't be reversed.

Customers that already have an account in your platform will not receive account creation points. We recommend importing those customers with account creation points.

Please note that it can usually take up to 24h to process the import, so please make sure you plan ahead when launching your program.
Our team will be in contact with you if there are any delays!

What is a point import?

All merchants can give points to their existing customers manually. This is a preferred action if you have a roughly low number of customers to reward. If you want to reward a lot of customers we can import all your existing customers into LoyaltyLion and add points to their accounts.

Please note that the import adds up points to already existing points total, just as you would add them manually. It DOES NOT override the current total point with a value in the file.

Any new customer will be automatically enrolled in the loyalty program once they create an account on your store - click here for more information.

Shopify import

If you would like to give your existing customers points to introduce them to your loyalty program please provide us (support@loyaltylion.com) with a CSV file with the following:

 Column A: email addresses
Column B: points - list the total points each customer should be imported with

If your customers already have an account in your store we advise giving them the ''create an account'' points as this activity won't be available to them.

Please note: each customer/email must only be included once in the .CSV file. If a customer email is included multiple times in an import with different points values, they may not be imported with the correct number of points.

Magento, BigCommerce, and Custom import

If you would like to give your existing customers points to introduce them to your loyalty program please provide us (support@loyaltylion.com) with a CSV file with the following:

Column A: customer's ID
Column B: email addresses
Column C: points - total points each customer should be imported with
Column D: enrolled - state 'true' if they are a customer 'false' if they are not

If you do not want to give them any points to start with you do not need to import them, once they log in they will be pulled into the loyalty program.

Please note: each customer/email must only be included once in the csv file. If a customer email is included multiple times in an import with different points values, they may not be imported with the correct number of points.

FAQ

Q. I have a list with a lot of emails, can you import these customers to the loyalty program?
We can import customers with or without the account on your store into LoyaltyLion however, they need to have an account in the e-commerce platform you're using, for example, Shopify, Magento or BigCommerce. Customers without accounts won't be able to use their points until they create an account in your store. All imported customers with an account won't be able to receive account creation points or welcome email.

We would advise not to import guests but instead email them separately and inform about double account creation points period - you would need to double the number of points for the account creation rule and then change it back to the normal amount after the promotional period expires.

Q. What is the difference between customer and guest?

  • Customer - someone who created an account on your store and will be automatically enrolled to the loyalty program once they log in

  • Guest - someone who doesn't have an account on your store. Customers without accounts won't be able to use their points until they create an account in your store. We can import customers with or without the account on your store into LoyaltyLion however, they need to have an account in the e-commerce platform you're using.

Q. Can I change the reason/note that customer will see in their notifications, to let them know why they're receiving points?

Adding a reason for giving points is something we support only when manually rewarding points. When processing an import, each of them receives a unique number that helps us recognise the import in the backend. This way we can be sure, which customers were rewarded during which import and eliminate confusion.
