Incentivise customers to leave reviews on your store by rewarding them with points!

Reviews are a great way to encourage customers to generate content on your website through product reviews - consumer-generated media is proven to be more trusted by shoppers than brand-generated content. Incentivising interaction encourages customers to leave reviews, which potential customers will use to gain trust in your business.

Shopify reviews

This activity rule rewards reviews placed through the Product Reviews app by Shopify - you must install it before activating the rule. Every review will earn points as soon as it is submitted. If you have auto-publish turned off, we'd suggest setting a pending period on the points awarded. Please note: if a customer mistypes their email address we won't be able to award them their points.

1. Click on "Manage" --> Activity Rules --> Create new rule

2. Select "Write a product review"

3. Enable review notifications: open your Shopify Reviews settings here ('Settings' --> 'Product reviews' --> 'Notification')

4. Add the LoyaltyLion address: add your unique LoyaltyLion email address in your notification settings in Shopify Reviews

5. Forward emails: We will forward the review emails to you at this address. Leave blank if you don't want to receive any review emails:


 

Customers need to provide their email address with the review so we can find their customer account - you need to ensure that you enable address collection for Shopify Product reviews. To set this up, you will need to edit the "Review form text" in the Product Reviews app Settings:

We recommend making the email field required, as it will reduce the chance of a customer forgetting to add their email address when they leave a review and missing out on their points.

Customers need to provide their email address with the review so we can find their customer account.

If you don't have the email field enabled, go to your Product Reviews app settings by logging into your store admin, navigating to the Apps section and opening the Product Reviews app.

  1. Once inside the app, click the "Settings" button at the top:
  2. Scroll down to the "Review form text" section and enable the email field if it is not already:

Yotpo reviews

LoyaltyLion has partnered with Yotpo so you can incentivise and increase mail after purchase reviews by giving your customers loyalty points.

Note: this rule is only available on Yotpo's Premium plan

Below are the steps to set up this Activity Rule:

1. Click on "Manage" --> "Integrations" --> Install (Yotpo)

2. Click on "Manage" --> Activity Rules --> Create new rule

3. Select "Leave a review via Yotpo"

4. Enter your credentials - you will need to include your Yotpo API Key and Secret.

5. Once you have completed the steps, click "create rule".

Your customers will now automatically earn points when they leave a mail after purchase review!

We highly recommend telling your customers about the points they will earn in the Mail After Purchase - we suggest you add the following line: "As a thank you, you will earn X points" :

Stamped.io reviews

The integration allows you to award points to your customers when they submit reviews, enticing the customer with the additional motivation you

To set up the installation you must have both Stamped.io and Shopify Product Reviews apps

1. Click on "Manage" > Activity Rules > Create new rule

2. Select "Leave a review via Stamped.io"

3. Enable review notifications:
Open your Stamped.io account > click on 'Notifications' > enable email notifications > add your unique LoyaltyLion email address in your notification settings in Stamped.io

4. Forward emails: We will forward the review emails to you at this address. Leave blank if you don't want to receive any review emails:

5. Save the changes in Stamped.io

6.  Set up points for leaving a review
Assign points > Set approval period > Limit number of points given for reviews (to prevent customers abusing the rule) > write your unique notification

7. Click create rule and you're all set! 🎉
